Hello --59 yr old male in good condition has inguinal hernia rt side. Has history of testicle torsion age 40. Doctor says leave hernia alone ???
Wrong advise: as far as I know if you have a symptomatic inguinal hernia it needs to be repaired .the fact that you had a history of torsion it does not change that fact. I watched last week a sick 70 years old with a strangulated hernia die because surgery was too risky. my believe if you are healthy enough to have an elective surgery have it before it becomes life threatening and kill you. ask for 2 opinion. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Possible...: Epididymitis is not directly related with testis although the related pain is right next to it, and is usually related with chlamydia infection in young men, although bacterial UTI can be the cause. Theoretically, it may "go" away depending on how strong the personal defense ability can be. In practice, timely proper use of antibiotics will usually ease sx and shorten its course faster. ...Read more

Sir my right testis pains.Ultrasound showed testicular microlithasis please describe about it.My doctor says don't worry. What is its longterm effect?
See answer: Testicular microlithiasis is an infrequent but well recognized condition, which is usually incidentally identified on testicular ultrasound scan. Interest in testicular microlithiasis has increased over past few years, owing to an observed association with testicular germ cell tumor. Regular testis self-exam and/or periodic ultrasound is all that is recommended. Pain is likely unrelated to this. ...Read more
Doctor my right testis pains while sitting a lot &while walking.Ultrasound showed microlithasis.Early varicocele found in left testis.Plz help me!
Urologic consult: Testicular microlithiasis is a controversial entity which may increase risk of getting testicular cancer. Microlithiasis alone doesn't cause scrotal pain. Varicoceles may cause pain but yours is left sided and your pain is on the right. Need to make sure there is no referred pain (such as from a kidney stone). Bottom line, a urologist should be involved. ...Read more
Any suggestions for social anxiety? I don't have health insurance and i've been on a wait list for free mental health services since may 2012.
Consider: Consider getting on another free clinic's wait list. Over a year is too long to be waiting. Call them back and complain. There are self help groups, which could be a resource. You would have to really push yourself to go despite your social anxiety, but it would be worth it. People at a self help group may know of other free clinics or other resources in your community. Good luck and let us know. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Had testicular cancer in left testicular. & testicular removed. Yesterday diagnosed hydrocele in right testicular. Will it become a testicular cancer?
Different entities: I'm glad the original testicular cancer is history. If you've had a good imaging study and there's no testicular cancer on the right, i would not worry about the hydrocele -- these are extremely common. You're correct to believe that a second primary in the opposite testis is somewhat more common than random chance. Ask your physician about banking sperms. Good luck. ...Read more
