How would you know if chlamydia spread further than cervix? Any test to detect? How to screen for PID?

No test for PID: Have you been tested and know you have chlamydia? It's uncommon at your age, i.e. beyond age 25 or so, even in sexually active people who might be at risk. Some but not all spreading infections cause symptoms of PID (fever, pelvic pain), but not always. There is no lab test for PID -- just symptoms and professional pelvic exam. If you dont get gardasil shot does that make you at risk for cervical cancer. Does having had chlamydia in the past make you at risk?

Mixed question: Gardasil can reduce your risk of some strains of HPV that can trigger cervical cancer, if you have the shots before you are exposed.Chlamydia has no direct effect on cancer risk, but the germ likes to live in/destroy the sensitive linings of your Fallopian tubes, which can render you unable to have a normal pregnancy. ...Read more

Probably not: An std like chlamydia can affect fertility with scaring of tubes. An abortion could cause scaring of the lining of the uterus causing recurrent miscarriage and failed implantation. The good news is that these complications are low and rarely occur. Don't worry about it this now. Try and get pregnant when the time is right. ...Read more
