3 days late 2posative clear blue digital test 1negative cheap test a negative doctor test. Am i pregnant?

If doubt then : There is not a way that we can tell you if you are pregnant if you have done one test that is positive and one that is negative. We would simply be guessing which test is correct. In this case you will need to see a doctor for a blood bhcg test. ...Read more

Postive, high, rast test results - only hayfever and animal reactions though? Are rast tests reliable?

Postive, high, rast test results - only hayfever and animal reactions though? Are rast tests reliable?

RAST vs skin tests: The reason allergists prefer skin tests to rast tests is because the skin tests show your body's biological response to allergens. Rast tests only measure the amount of antibody and do not predict its clinical binding and symptom-provoking abilities. That said, no test is perfect. All have to be compared to your experience and correlated with your history. Allergists spend more time doing this. ...Read more

Erosive gastritis. h.pylori blood test positive, breath test positive, stool antigen test negative, biopsy negative. what to do ?

Erosive gastritis. h.pylori blood test positive, breath test positive, stool antigen test negative, biopsy negative. what to do ?

Treat it: The positive H. pylori antibody test is not a reliable indicator of current infection. The gold standard for H. pylori treatment is the gastric biopsy, and this is negative in this patient. However, I am impressed by the positive breath test and erosive gastritis. I would have expected stool antigen to be positive, as it mirrors the breath test. Given the discrepant results, treat the patient. ...Read more

Lupus symptoms neg bloodwork, biopsy of facial rash showed sebhorreic dermatitis but get malar flushing. Deflated and seeking answers?

Maybe rosacea: Malar flushing is most commonly caused by a condition called rosacea. Many times there is a positive family history of similar symptoms. Wine, spicy foods will frequently provoke the flushing. The condition can be mild or severe depending on the degree of flushing and how often it happens. The biopsy seems to have ruled out lupus, but an immunofluresence bx is more specific. Mirvaso may help. ...Read more

Positive diagnosis (scleroderma, polymyositis) with negative blood tests? Is that common?

Positive diagnosis (scleroderma, polymyositis) with negative blood tests? Is that common?

PM/Scl: The paradox of rheumatologic diseases is that there are more lab tests in this area than any other, and they of relatively less value compared to the history and physical findings than in other fields. If your rheumatologist is comfortable with the diagnosis of "scleromyositis", which usually features anti-pm/scl, i'd accept it even with a single negative result, and proceed. ...Read more
