TMJ?: Tension headaches and ringing in the ear are symptoms included in tmj. Next time your ear rings hold your jaw more forward in a protruded position and see if the ringing sound is reduced or eliminated. If so then your ringing is related to your jaw position. It might help: Use of Botox injections into the muscle trigger points may allow them to release the muscle to relax and reduce the pain from this fatigued tissue. It has been used on various sites in head and neck. Sometimes a local anesthetic is used on these points.
