Is it possible that herpes could cause a big painless node(s) in the groin or are herpes lymph nodes always going to be tender/painful?3 day aftersex
Thoughts: Typically if you first get infected with herpes, small sores, scabs and itching occur first and then the virus lays dormant for years. That presentation sounds more like an infected follicle which you could use bacitracin for. See your doctor or someone with an infectious disease background and be examined. You can check a blood test to rule out exposure if really concerned. ...Read more
Yes: Most of your lymph nodes are located in your head and neck region. Lymph nodes that frequently swell are in this area, as well as in your armpits and groin area. You need to see MD: Swollen tender lymph node is sign of infection or inflammation. In this particular region they drain the genital area and part of the thigh, that means it could be an infection or inflammation in those areas. I would recommend seeing a physician, specially if you have been sexually active or have any genital ulcer/lesion. I hope you will feel better. ...Read more

Enlarged lymph nodes in groin and sore lower back every so often. Is this genital herpes symptoms?
Probably not herpes: Recrurrent genital herpes doesn't cause enlarged lymph nodes. This happens from herpes only once, during the intitial infection, and in that case there would be painful blisters or sores. And herpes doesn't cause lower back pain. You'll need to look elsewhere for the cause of these symptoms. Good luck! ...Read more

I have what I think is an abcess\boil in my pubic area it is very tender and so are my inguinal lymph nodes on the same side..I also feel nauseous?
I think you're right: Gd description of abscess/boil, perhaps from an ingrown pubic hair; lymph nodes (same side) will localize and help heal the infection, so they enlarge and get tender. The nausea is a systemic sx, the worry is that infection enter the bloodstream. Rx is hot compresses and antibiotic. May come to head & drain on own; if not incision & drainage by a doc. Do not I&D on own: could get septic, bad news. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
