Depends : Depends a bit on location and how widespread your psoriasis is. Topical options include steroid creams, vit d derivatives (dovonex and vectical), salicylic acid and coal tar preparations. Sometimes i inject a diluted steroid into specific lesions with good results. There are some biologic therapies such as enbrel, humira, and stelara (ustekinumab) that work well for widespread cases (check out the link below for more information). Not great combo: Concomitant administration of clonazepam (Klonopin) and carbamazepine (Tegretol) resulted in a 22% increase in clonazepam clearance and a 20.5% decrease in carbamazepine clearance. Carbamazepine is well known to induce its own metabolism as well as the metabolism of other meds making it difficult to manage. Consult provider.
