Contact dermatitis: If it is not bothering him, do nothing and it will eventually clear up since the tegaderm is now off. If bothering him (itching, etc) , then use over-the-counter strength Hydrocortisone cream (like cortaid) and massage into affected area three times a day. Hypoallergenic tape: There are tapes which are less likely to cause a contact allergy. Just ask for them. Do note the "less likely" description. Another approach would be to apply a cortisone cream at the site first then apply the tape an hour later after the cream has dried up and the cortisone has a chance to bind to the skin cells. ...Read more
