Hand, : Hand, foot, and mouth is a viral disease cause by coxsackievirus. It often is accompanied by a rash and cold symptoms but the main symptoms are ulcers that can appear anywhere on the body. In a 1 year old, the most likely location is in the mouth, especially on the tonsils and the back of the throat. Typically the symptoms last about 4-5 days and treating the discomfort with tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen is reasonable.
