I'm taking 20mg pantoprazole for a long time and it is not working any longer. It was suggested I try two tablets of Prilosec OTC (40mg). I'm 120 lbs.

Wouldn't want to: Protonix (pantoprazole) works by permanently inactivating the acid secretion by the stomach and this has to grow back before the pills action stops. More protonix (pantoprazole) cannot do more effect at one time. With acid secretion broken by protonix (pantoprazole) unlikely zantac could do anything. ...Read more

Pantoprazole: Pantoprazole is not likely to cause you to need to have a bowel movement. All it does is reduces stomach acid. If you continue to have stomach pain, try adding Tums (calcium carbonate).
