Migraines, mini-stroke 5-6 yrs ago, right eye pain, vision problems & hearing problems. Told developed complex migraines. Could it be something else?
Possible: If migraine is associated with stroke (call syndrome), the risk accentuates with smoking and female hormones. However, there is a hereditary syndrome that may mimic and this is cadasil. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have a 6.6cm complex septated cyst. Could this cause complications. Should cyst this size be removed? Dr says keep an eye on it.
Doc's right: Not sure what "complex" means here but septated cysts without associated mass are overwhelmingly benign. Rarely, larger cysts can twist the blood supply to the ovary and cause pain so be aware that if you develop acute "severe" pelvic pain on the side of cyst you should have a repeat ultrasound. My 10 yr old son was diagnosed with having partial complex seizures 4 m ago and is on keppra. When he gets angry his eyes blink rapidly. Significant?
Scan needed: I trust your family doctor referred you to a pediatric neurologist, and an MRI scan of the brain has been done already. The combination of angry and seizures suggests that something may be going on in the temporal lobe. Anything serious such as a tumor or infection would probably show up on an MRI so make sure he gets a scan if this has not been done.
