Not a good idea.: Tea tree oil can be contaminated with bacteria and if the skin is broken open that can cause infection. Wash with soap and water and apply a clean bandage.

Wrong question: Tea tree oil is useless. So is grapeseed oil. Throw away both. Is it your face? Con men are making a sucker out of you. Plain cool water will feel god. You can apply a little vaseline to damaged skin while kit heals.

No: The tannic acid will stain the skin but this is usually superficial and will peei off in 10-12 days. Once it does, massage the area with any good over the counter moisturizing cream a couple of time a day for 2-3 weeks

Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil has antifungal and antibacterial properties but undiluted tea tree oil may burn your skin. Tea tree oil should always be diluted with another oil (such as grapeseed) prior to application and should never be taken internally. Treat chemical burns with gentle cleansing and a hypoallergenic moisturizer. Aloe vera may help expedite the healing process, and relieve discomfort.

I've had a dark red burn for over a week from tea tree oil on the bra line in a bandage shape. Neosporin and hydrocortisone are making it worse. Help?

Try just hydrocort: Neosporin should not be used in the absence of an infection. In your case you may well be allergic to the neomycin in Neosporin thus making the rash worse. Try hydrocortisone alone. If problem persists for more than a week or gets worse, see doctor.
