Even after being on antibiotics for 15 days, my father's typhoid is not clearing. What are we doing wrong?
Typhoid: Therapeutic responses in this disease will vary with the antibiotic used and the sensitivity of the strain with which one is infected, as well as when in the course of treatment the drugs were begun. It is not obvious how your father's disease is not responding. Give more info and can provide further responses. It isn't unusual for fever to persist despite treatment, but will eventually decline. ...Read more
One month after being treatrd with 14 days antibiotic tratment of typhoid fever, can I preapare food for my family now?

Unlikely: If you actually had typhoid fever and recovered you have probably developed antibodies to the organism and should not get a systemic recurrence although you can carry the bacteria in your gall bladder. Do not know what symptoms you are having but would suggest that you see a doctor and get evaluated. Best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am a chronic carrier of typhoid since many years. Antibiotics fails to cure it as the bacteria form biofilms in body. How to destroy biofilm?
Awaiting discovery: Haven't heard of a way to prevent the formation of typhoid biofilms or to remove them. Research is surely underway to do just that. Biofilms are mixtures of bacteria and their associated polysaccharides, glycoproteins, glycolipids, extracellular DNA, etc., together called extracellular polymeric substances. Biofilms make an infection harder to treat and harder for one's immune system to eradicate. ...Read more
