Can i take Lexapro (escitalopram) and Zoloft together?

only: Only if your dr prescribed it this way; the only normal situation to do this is because you are decreasing one and increasing the other (cross taper) with the goal of eventually end up with only one. Do not start/stop/mix meds without asking prescribing dr. Good luck. ...Read more

I'm tapering off Zoloft and switching to cymbalta (duloxetine), (duloxetine) will i lose weight with cymbalta (duloxetine).. With out the zoloft? (at the moment I am taking both)

Loss of appetite: Both medications have as a side effect- loss of appetite. However, with Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an individual response, you can gain or loose weight. At the same time Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a good antidepressant (snri) and chronic pain relief medication. ...Read more

Taking Prozac 40mg for 2 months, If I want to try Zoloft, how long should I take for tapering off Prozac before starting Zoloft, a week or two?

Crossover same time: I typically start Zoloft right away. Prozac leaves the body slowly over about a 2 week period of time and Zoloft can be started at a low dose at the same time. Your doctor can then increase the dose of Zoloft if needed once the Prozac has left the body. ...Read more

How do I stop emotional numbness caused by ssri used? I have only been on one for 7 weeks and am currently tapering off 25 mgs of zoloft (sertraline).

Emotional numbness?: Some people feel detached from their emotions when on ssri's, but not all do. Emotional numbness can also come with depression, ptsd, dissociative disorders, drug use, and even some psychoses, etc. Please talk with your doctor about what you're experiencing. If it's related to zoloft (sertraline) and not to your primary condition, it will dissipate when zoloft (sertraline) is stopped. You'll be back at square 1, tho'. ...Read more

If you stopped taking it Zoloft (sertraline) without tapering, what happens?

If you stopped taking it Zoloft (sertraline) without tapering, what happens?

Depends: Depends on the dose you were on, and your particular sensitivity to changes in ssri levels. If you're on 50mg or less, chances are you'd tolerate an abrupt discontinuation without side effects. Any higher dose than that, i'd recommend tapering. Personally, since there's virtually no downside to tapering, i taper everyone to 25 mg before discontinuing. Talk to your doc about tapering. ...Read more
