I am a female and taking flomax (tamsulosin) for 7 days for kidney stones. None have passed yet? Is the medication not working for me?
Here are some. ..: Flomax (tamsulosin) is used to relax smooth muscle of lower part of ureter and bladder neck so to ease the passage of distal ureteral stone; this effect and benefit have been clinically studied, but of course, would never be 100%. Generally speaking, the odd to spontaneously pass a stone of 4-6 mm may still pass and few stone ...Read more
How long should it take to pass a 6mm kidney stone once it feels like it's near my clitorous and tearing me? Is flomax (tamsulosin) okay for females?
Varies: How long it takes to pass will vary. Most stones that are 6mm will eventually pass. If the pain is not well managed it can be removed endosopically (by working through a cystoscope). It is fine for a female to take flomax (tamsulosin) to help relax the ureter for the stone to pass. Best wishes. ...Read more

I was in so much pain from a kidney stone now the pain is gone but I didn't see a stone pass is the stone gone should I stop taking flomax (tamsulosin)?
Pain gone: The stone is likely passed if your pain is gone, you have likely passed the kidney stone. I would not stop a medication that has been given to you by your primary or urologist until you have discussed it with them unless you are having bad side effects to the medications. There is no significant harm in taking it for an additional night and discussing it with your doctor in the AM. Be well. ...Read more

Drug effect unlikely: Use of Flomax (tamsulosin) may enhance kidney stone passage. Flomax (tamsulosin) should not be affecting ejaculation after 48 hours from the last dose. Flomax (tamsulosin) has the potential side effect of delaying ejaculation. If your husband had that experience and was unaware of the side effect, it may have created anxiety which can be affect ejaculation, particularly premature ejaculation. Here are some. ..: Have you passed urinary stone before? If so, what was the size of stone, and how soon? A 4x10mm stone is bigger than the size for spontaneous passage. Here are some...: If the degree of hydronephrosis - kidney dilation - is acceptable, you may wait and see with Flomax (tamsulosin) since this stone has already worked its way down thus far although the very end of ureter is the most difficult point to pass through. However, generally speaking, a stone suck a the same spot for more than 2-3 weeks will become less likely to pass; then intervention to remove it is reasonable. ...Read more

Taking ketorolac, oxy/acetaminophen, flomax, (tamsulosin) zofran to manage kidney stone. No bm for 48 hours. Is this too long? What can I do to have a bm?
YOu can get some glycerin suppositories to help bm. The constipation is from the oxycodone. If you will need it longer start on some bisacodyl and take as instructed on bottle. I would not worry for not having a BM is 48 hours. This is not unusual in the case of narcotics.
