My friend takes 2-4 tylenol (acetaminophen) pills every day of her pregnanacy. That can't be right can it?

Unwise but not awful: Acetaminophen is considered relatively safe to take when pregnant.Recent research shows it may increase her child's risk of asthma-see http://www.Webmd.Com/asthma/news/20110330/acetaminophen-in-pregnancy-link-to-babys-asthma i don't think it's wise for anyone to take it daily, pregnant or not. Add ibuprofen ?: The recommended limit is less than 4 grams per day. Can u take ibuprofen? This may work better for knee pain. You could alternate the 2 drugs. And have u had the knee looked at? Both tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen have problems if used long term and are only temporary solutions for your pain. One would ask why it is that your knee is hurting? ...Read more

Been taking NSAID (tylenol/aspirin) for over 10 years often every day . I want to stop. How likely do i have liver and kidney damage?

Depends....: Duration of use is important, but you haven't told us the frequency (once a week, once a day) or dose (1 pill a week, 20 a day?), nor have you shared your co-morbidities (particularly underlying liver or kidney diseases) or predisposing factors (alcohol intake, etc.). Testing is easy to allay your concern--please pursue same through your local doctor. ...Read more

I've been sick and taking painkillers every day for 5 days straight whether it would be Advil,Aleve, or Tylenol (acetaminophen). Is this bad? Head still hurts

Minimal Danger: Long term (weeks to months) use of painkillers can be a problem, but there is likely no great risk to using them for five days. The more concerning thing is that you are not getting better. I would advise you to see a primary care doctor to find out a diagnosis. ...Read more
