Can taking the Plan B pill while on birth control pills delay your period during the placebo week?
I believe so.: I am not a gynecologist, but my understanding is that Plan B is a high dose of hormones that induce shedding of the lining of the uterus (preventing an egg/embryo from implanting). Taking Plan B while taking placebo (which are sugar pills) will be like taking Plan B by itself. Bleeding based on a new schedule caused by Plan B may be earlier or l8r than usual depending on how ur body reacts. ...Read more

Also, if you have a history or pattern of irregular menstrual bleeding, that could be a factor. If you have more questions about your bleeding, do see your clinician. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Does Next Choice One Dose impact the effectiveness of your regular birth control pills? Took this bc I took birth control 1 hour late
No, not at all.: Next Choice and other "morning after" pills have hormones similar to those in OCP's, just in higher doses. While we advise taking the pill at the same time every day, taking it one hour late will not decrease its effectiveness. Also, using the "morning after" regimen when you're already taking the Pill regularly, is an unnecessary expense and an unnecessary exposure to hormone side effects. ...Read more
Yes: Sorry to stir the pot, but our bodies are set up amazingly well to make babies. If you absolutely don't want to become pregnant, always take your birth control and use condoms. Do not assume that there is a "safe time" to have unprotected sex when it comes to contraception -- people who do that are called parents. You don't want to be the one who says, "well, i didn't think i could get pregnant if. ...Read more
