Is it safe to take crestor (rosuvastatin) 10 after the expiration date of 4-20016 how often should you get a Liver test when taking crestor (rosuvastatin) 10?

Is it safe to take crestor (rosuvastatin) 10 after the expiration date of 4-20016 how often should you get a Liver test when taking crestor (rosuvastatin) 10?

Not a good idea: To make a "habit" out of taking EXPIRED medication but chances are there is no harm or loss of strength a month or so beyond the expiration date. The FDA requires that the date used is CONSERVATIVE!!!!!

Liver Function should be measured each time you have your LIPID tests are done! The FIRST set should be no later than 4 weeks after starting!
Hope this helps!

Just learned red yeast rice contains some lovastatin. Cpk high after taking crestor, (rosuvastatin) now stopped. It is possible switching to ryr is keeping CPK high?

Yes: It's possible. But be aware that any vigorous physical activity will elevate CPK normally. The CPK elevation related to statin is dose related and most people can simply reduce the dose to avoid or minimize it. Minor eleations are of no clinical significance. By minor, I mean. ...Read more

They can.: Muscle injury syndromes secondary to lipid lowering medications can occur at any time during therapy although 2/3 of the cases occur in the first 6 months. My mom is taking 10mg crestor (rosuvastatin) daily very good results she went back to her dr for a follow up he gave her 20mg of crestor (rosuvastatin) to take because he said he?

Increase in Crestor (rosuvastatin): Your mom's physician (p) may have increased her dose due to the fact that 20 mg of Crestor (rosuvastatin) (c) was needed to control her cholesterol levels. You should have her ask her p for an answer to your question. In my opinion, the only reason to raise her c dose was to lower her elevated cholesterol levels on her old dose of 10 mg of c. ...Read more

I am taking generic for crestor (rosuvastatin). Is that good?

Impossible: There is no generic medication for Crestor (rosuvastatin) at this time as the medication is still under patent. The generic name for Crestor (rosuvastatin) is Rosuvastatin and you may be on that med, but it is not generic (and won't be for years). I had stents before 2 years & iam already taking plavix and crestor (rosuvastatin) 20mg (rousostatin), when can I stop plavix? & is plavix must taking with aspirin?

Check with your doc: Plavix (clopidogrel) duration after a stent is minimum 1 year by guideline recommendation, but individual cases require longer duration. This could be the case for multiple, or extremely long stented segment, bifurcation stenting (fork in the road), stenting in your left main, or in a previous bypass graft. Check with your cardiologist to see what optimal duration is in your particular case. ...Read more

Can crestor (rosuvastatin) be crushed?

Yes and no: Crestor’s maker suggests it should be taken whole and not be crushed, chewed, or broken. There is no reason that it cannot necessarily be crushed, aside from the coating possibly masking the drug’s medicinal taste, but do be aware upon crushing the tablet, some of the coating pieces could remain, kind of how like if you crushed M&M’s, you’d see the difference between chocolate and candy coating. ...Read more

What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

What does crestor (rosuvastatin) do for lpa?

Not much: Treatment of elevated lp (a) is a bit tough. Potent statins can mitigate the risk by lowering the ldl-cholesterol level as much as possible (below 70 mg/dl), since that particle is tied to the ldl-c molecule. Estrogen therapy in women, Niacin in both sexes, and in the future, cholesterol ester transfer protein inhibitors (if they come to market) may lower lp (a) levels. ...Read more

What is the best time to take crestor (rosuvastatin) 10 mg?

Crestor (rosuvastatin): It is generally believed that cholesterol is produced by the body at night. The first drugs in the class (statins) were recommended to be taken with the evening meal. However, the new statins such as Crestor (rosuvastatin) have in the product labeling that it can be taken any time during the day. However, if it's not a hardship, I would still recommend that you take your Crestor (rosuvastatin) with your evening meal. ...Read more
