Not sure: Honestly I am not sure about your question regarding clomid (clomiphene). That is not my specialty. But I just wanted to say that suffering a miscarriage can be devastating. Don't let it be the end of the road for you. Try again when you are ready. Be patient. Things will work out when the time is right. Be strong and have faith. Keep trying and good luck. ...Read more

Does clomid (clomiphene) increase risk of miscarriages? And why do doctor's never mention this risk?
Always a risk: The risk of miscarriage will normally range from 10 to 25% whether or not you take Clomid (clomiphene). Risk may be increased because you would not be taking Clomid (clomiphene) if there wasn't a problem of some sort, and the risk of twins (with a possible increased risk of miscarriage) is higher with Clomid (clomiphene). Your "never mention" comment is inappropriate as well as incorrect. ...Read more

After 3 miscarriages ob has prescribed Clomid (clomiphene) day 2 to 6 (to ovulate earlier) 1st round still day 21 ovulation. Will prolonged use shorten ovulation?
No: In general would recommend seeing a specialist after 3 miscarriages. But as long as you have normal cycles it should not shorten them. If your cycles is more than 35 days long they will likely shorten which is actually a good thing. ...Read more
Ask your doctor...: That is a good question to ask your doctor. Some doctors will prescribe it after you have your first normal period. Others will wait around 3 months because there has been some evidence that getting pregnant too soon after a miscarriage can increase your risk of another miscarriage. Best wishes! ...Read more

I had a miscarriage over a month ago and haven't gotten my period yet. I really want to ovulate. Can I go ahead and start taking Clomid (clomiphene) without af?
Does taking Clomid (clomiphene) or Clomiphene increase the risk of miscarriage, and the risk of having C-section if I have twins?
Clomid (clomiphene) complications: Clomid (clomiphene) increases the risk of multiple eggs during induced ovulation, and some of those eggs that get fertilized often have an abnormal genetic composition resulting sometimes resulting in "miscarriage". Any twin gestation can have breech presentation at labor with the need for C/S for safe delivery. However, Clomid (clomiphene) also can produce pregnancies in those who otherwise couldn't get pregnant. ...Read more

Clomid (clomiphene) from 7/23 to 7/27 is the appropriate time for taking clomid (clomiphene). If you are having irregular cycles, and are taking clomid (clomiphene) to induce predictable ovulation, the symptoms would not occur on the days taking the clomid (clomiphene) ("days 5-9") but could on day 12-14 and beyond.
Pregnancy is always possible, but probably occurred a couple weeks before you started the clomid (clomiphene) this month. ...Read more

Been trying to conceive over2yrs now went on Clomid (clomiphene) for 7mnths got pregnant miscarried at 8wks that was 7mnths ago I'm 40 what should be our next step?
Ovarian reserve: At age 40, time is short. The next step would be testing for "ovarian reserve". This is an evaluation including blood tests and ultrasound. These tests check on the relative age of your ovaries to get an assessment of the chances that you will be able to conceive using your own eggs. In some cases, if carrying a pregnancy is very important to you, using donor eggs would be the best option. ...Read more
If ill take Clomid (clomiphene) on day 5 when I should start intercourse n without Clomid (clomiphene) how would I know if I ovulate every month I had a miscarriage they did sc?
Around day 12: If you take Clomid (clomiphene) starting on d5 through day ten you should start having intercourse approximately day 11-12 through day 18. If you have regular menstrual cycles and feel premenstrual before you get your menses it is highly likely that you do ovulate. ...Read more
I had a miscarriage in january and now doctor suggested Clomid (clomiphene) for this month. Why am I not ovulating? Or do I have any problem
Have a 9 year old son, now I'm 28 years old and am trying to conceive for 2 years, just had 3rd miscarriage. Now on Clomid (clomiphene) 50 mg, will this help?
Maybe: If the problem is a failure to ovulate the clomid (clomiphene) may help but it sounds like you have more of a problem with recurrent miscarriages and the clomid (clomiphene) will not help with that. You need testing to find out the cause of the recurrent miscarriages. A maternal fetal medicine specialist could help with this. Best wishes for a baby in the new year. ...Read more
Will Clomid (clomiphene) help get me pregnant if I am ovulating naturally? Been ttc since 6/2012. Had miscarriage 4/2/13 at 6w3d. Want to get pregnant again fast.
Might well help: There's some disagreement but not controversy among experts on this. I suggest it probably will, even if you are ovulating, so long as it is monitored (usually by ultrasound) and with possible use of an HCG trigger. ...Read more

Patience: It may take 3 to 6 cycles to conceive on Clomid (clomiphene). Hopefully, you have been monitored by ultrasound and progesterone blood test to document response to clomid (clomiphene). Please do a monitored cycle. Several women get side effects when they are not closely monitored. The good news is that you were able to get pregnant. So, it will happen. Good Luck! ...Read more
