Having CBC and liver panel drawn tomorrow. Taking keflex and diflucan (fluconazole). Will these affect test readings? Should i not take morning dose prior to test?
Yes for some STDs: Some antibiotics are active against chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis and could cure the infection, making the test negative. Regular Pulmicort/ other steroid use before the test may also affect results. The test works best in untreated patients. ...Read more

Depends on the test: The test for intrinsic factor is usually antibody to intrinsic factor and that would not be affected. If the B12 test is measuring the blood level of the vitamin, then that would be affected and yield a higher reading than the baseline, without the B 12 supplement. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can being on antibiotics whilst doing a urine test affect the results? Done an sample whilst on antibiotics for a uti, still having symptoms
Should be helpful: If your symptoms are due to UTI and didn't improve on antibiotic, repeat testing is still likely to be useful by identifying bacteria resistant to the drug. Also discuss alternate diagnoses w/ your doctor, especially STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas) which can cause similar symptoms as UTI; also yeast or other vaginal infections.
