Take Siphene Get Twin
Is it safe to to take generic Clomid (clomiphene) bought offline to try and conceive twins? I have no medical problems and have two children? I am 31 and my husband is 36
Clomid (clomiphene) is a prescription medication and should be taken under the direction of a physician familiar with the use of this medication.
Since Clomid (clomiphene) has been around for a long time, there are generic forms of this medication that work just fine. It is a stable medication so it can be sent through the mail system and not lose its potency.
When Clomid (clomiphene) is taken, there is an increase risk of having a twin pregnancy. This is estimated at 15 to 25%. As an infertility specialist, I do not intentionally try to establish a twin pregnancy in my patients. Though the majority of twin pregnancies have a good outcome, about 5% of the time they have a very bad outcome. They are born prematurely. If they are born too premature they can die. If they live, they can have complications of prematurity such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, blindness, or severe lung problems to name a few.
Rarely, Clomid (clomiphene) can result in triplets or more. I have seen this happen in a patient who took Clomid (clomiphene) on her own. It is always a good idea to take prescription medications only under the direction of a physician. ...Read more

Hi dr m 25yrs n weight is 41kgs m planning to conceive n I want to plan fr twins so can I take Clomid (clomiphene) tab without prescription?
Rx required in USA: Clomid (clomiphene) doesn't increase your chances of twins by much, only about 7%. I don't know what the laws are in India but in the USA a prescription is required to get Clomid (clomiphene). I wouldn't recommend taking Clomid (clomiphene) to increase your chances of twins because there are some risks to taking it. Best wishes! ...Read more
5-8%: Only 5-8% unless you have more than 5 follices by ultrasound, then the risk increases. Also women over 35 will have a lower chance for twins with Clomid (clomiphene) I would recommend reviewing this with the doctor who prescribed your Clomid (clomiphene) and he/ she should give you a % based on your age, diagnosis and number of eggs developing. ...Read more

I am on Clomid (clomiphene) 50mg (day 3-7). Age 29. What are the chances of success in first month of clomid (clomiphene). Is there any chance of twins?
Depends: Chance of preg depends on many factors. Is your partner's sperm count normal? Are your tubes open? What is your amh level? With unexplained infertility (ie tests show no problems) the preg rate is 2% per cycle for Clomid (clomiphene) with intercourse and 10%+ for Clomid (clomiphene) with insemination. Your chance of achieving twins is 5-8%. If you do not ovulate regularly then chance of success is about 2o%. ...Read more

Which is better merional or clomid (clomiphene)e? What is difference? Is a risk of twin more with merional or clomid (clomiphene)?
CC vs. HMG: Clomid (clomiphene) is an oral drug (a stilbene derivative) used to induce ovulation, merional is a gonadotropin (fsh + lh) used in controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. One is not "better" than the other: they have different risk/benefit profiles and so are selected based on appropriateness for the patient. The twinning rate on cc is roughly 5% and roughly 25% on hmg. ...Read more

High dose!: If you can't get pregnant because you are not ovulating each month, Clomiphene Citrate can help you ovulate. It increases your chance of twins by about 7%. Clomiphene Citrate was originally tested as a possible contracepive agent because it can negatively affect cervical mucus at high doses. 500mg is a big dose. In my practice, I don't go over 150mg. Best wishes! ...Read more

I want to concieve with twins nd some body told me to eat Clomid (clomiphene) kindly prescribe me correct dose as iam of 18 years and want to concieve first time?
Bad advice: You have received bad advice regarding the use of clomid (clomiphene). Clomid (clomiphene) is used to assist women having difficulty getting pregnant. Yes, there is a risk of twins using clomid (clomiphene), however, Clomid (clomiphene) should not be used solely to cause a twin pregnancy. There are risks to twin pregnancies, both to mother and babies, and therefore the use of Clomid (clomiphene) to induce twins is inappropriate. ...Read more
Why such low chance of twins/higher order multiples on clomid, (clomiphene) when it is so common to produce more than one follicle? Does hCG trigger up the odds?
Clomid (clomiphene): Clomid (clomiphene) patients do have a higher rate of twins than spontaneous pregnancy rates, but proper clomid (clomiphene) use usually leads to fewer appropriate size follicles than the injectible fertility meds. The advantage is less chance of ovarian hyperstimulation, which can lead to torsion and surgery/possible loss of the ovary. Hcg won't necessarily increase twin rates. ...Read more

At Ovulation: Your best time to conceive is when you are ovulating, however there is no best time to conceive twins. You have a 5-8% chance of having twins with clomid (clomiphene). 95% of pregnancies on Clomid (clomiphene) are not twins. Whether you have twins or not depends on the number of good eggs you make, how many fertilize and implant. Good eggs are less common in 41 yr old women. ...Read more
Why do so many women appear to be infertile these day and use Clomid (clomiphene) and IVF to have twins?
Hi doctor, I love twins. I would love to have twin girls since I already have a boy. What do I do to conceive girls? Any chances with clomid (clomiphene)?
Bad idea.: Clomid (clomiphene) produces multiple gestations - trouble is, it can easily overshoot and produce very high risk pregnancies with 3 or more fetuses. Even a twin gestation is more likely to produce preemies or perinatal problems than a singleton; triplets or more almost guarantee need for intensive care for the babies. ...Read more
Does taking Clomid (clomiphene) or Clomiphene increase the risk of miscarriage, and the risk of having C-section if I have twins?
Clomid (clomiphene) complications: Clomid (clomiphene) increases the risk of multiple eggs during induced ovulation, and some of those eggs that get fertilized often have an abnormal genetic composition resulting sometimes resulting in "miscarriage". Any twin gestation can have breech presentation at labor with the need for C/S for safe delivery. However, Clomid (clomiphene) also can produce pregnancies in those who otherwise couldn't get pregnant. ...Read more
So, I have 2 of 3 symptoms of PCOS, what are the possibilities of having twins while taking Clomid, (clomiphene) Metformin or any other meds to control PCOS?
Let's clarify...: Clomid (clomiphene) is not a "treatment" for PCOS it is an ovulation inductor and yes, twin pregnancies are very common with this medicine. Other medicines used to control PCOS are contraceptives and metformin. These two do not induce ovulation. If you get pregnant while taking metformin only, your risk of twins is the same as the general population unless twins run in your family. ...Read more

A twin pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage, premature labor/rupture of membranes/delivery; high blood pressure and sugar during pregnancy, and the need for c/section. Trying to induce twins isn't smart and is potentially dangerous to you and your possible baby.

We are currently trying to get pregnant with the assistance of clomid (clomiphene). I take it on days 3-7. What day should I expect to ovulate?
Varies: Most patients ovulate between days 12-16. Clomid (clomiphene) rarely changes that. What Clomid (clomiphene) does it increases the hormones that promote ovulation (fsh). You should be either monitored by a doctor for ideal ovulation time, or at the least do ovulation predictor kits at home. If neither are available then have intercourse days 12, 14, 16. ...Read more
