No: The "sugar" pills are there to maintain a regular dosing schedule. Once the 3 weeks of active pills are finished, the hormonal trigger for menstruation occurs, & a period will follow. The "placebo" pills have nothing to do with the period other than to keep the schedule on routine. I believe so.: I am not a gynecologist, but my understanding is that Plan B is a high dose of hormones that induce shedding of the lining of the uterus (preventing an egg/embryo from implanting). Taking Plan B while taking placebo (which are sugar pills) will be like taking Plan B by itself.
