Which parts?: Which parts (tissues) are you referring to, and what procedures if any have been performed on the gingiva? I fracturred my shoulder I have. Neutropenia. Will. It.Take. Longer. To heal?

Unless it's extreme, it usually means nothing. If you're going about your normal business healthy with a lab value somewhat off, my best advice is to stop worrying. ...Read more

Will smoking marijuana once or twice a month make my fractured scaphoid take longer to heal? I eat healthy, I don't smoke tobacco, im an athlete so fit

May be not: Weed is not likely to delay bone healing but over time it will progressively mess up your head. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Why does gastritis takes long to heal? Have it since March. No h pylori, nsaids and no alcohol. Bland diet.

Gastritis: Gastritis is usually diagnosed based on symptoms, and if the symptoms resolve with acid blockers. Any med to increase circulation in lower legs for a person with diabetes. What factors decide when to get bypass or angio done. Wounds take long to heal?

Too complicated: You've been asking many questions about your family member (father?) and his diabetes and leg infections. All this is far too complex for a forum like this, especially within a 400 character limit. His infections are slow in clearing and wounds slow in healing because of the poor circulation. No medications are likely to help. Continue to discuss his care, including surgery, with his doctors. ...Read more

Have a cast on foot due to a crack in bone. Does this take long to heal and have no pain and its only had cast on for 4 days is that a good sign.

NO: The bone will usually take 6-8 weeks to heal enough to take cast off, depending on type of fracture and the bone that is cracked. The fact that you have no pain means the cast is working, but it does not mean it can come off. The bone is weak and can get out of place with minor injury if you do not protect it with the cast. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Why do spider bites take so long to heal?

Why do spider bites take so long to heal?

Normal healing rate: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation (red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day and protected from trauma. Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected. ...Read more

Please explain why is it that aperson with diabetic takes long time to heal (wounds, pricks, etc.)?

Diabetics have: Compromised blood flow as part of the illness no matter how well controlled. Add other conditions such as smoking and obesity and the arterial flow and thereby tissue oxygenation is further compromised. Oxygen is necessary for adequate wound healing as are a multitude of other conditions. Deprive the person from one of these and healing is impaired or delayed. ...Read more
