I would like to take ginkgo biloba for memory/concentration. Is it safe to take 120 mg once a day?
Yes, but not helpful: That dose is safe, and actually low. However, the studies do not support any benefit from ginkgo for memory or concentration. It may (may) have some benefit for certain kinds of dementia. But I do not recommend it for memory problems or concerns. Other things are better such as brain games, getting rest, and addressing medications that can cause such issues. ...Read more
Ginko and normier: I would avoid ginkgo unless you need some way to spend your money and waste it. You have no idea how it is made, what they add to it and if it is harmful or helpful. It is a supplement. There are no quality controls on them. Some add arsenic, mercury and viagra to supplements. Beware. Don't bet your life on them. ...Read more

I bought some ginkgo biloba and I wanted to know since I have MS would this vitamin be okay to take.
Caution w/ lexapro (escitalopram):
While it is safe to take gingko if you have MS, there is a theoretical risk of an interaction with Lexapro (escitalopram) that increases seizure risk. There are many herbs more likely to help MS than gingko. I advise working with an integrative doctor.
Many who have been diagnosed with MS have Lyme disease, which can have similar symptoms but is treated differently. See http://tinyurl.com/pt3zqvl ...Read more
