I take cymbalta (duloxetine) 60 mg in the morning. I see some people take it at night before bedtime. Does it make a difference?
Either one okay: You can take it either in morning or at bedtime. I usually advise my patients to take it in the morning so that it helps them get better sleep at night. Most doctors will suggest am dosing. However, I do not think it makes a big difference since we sometime prescribe it as twice a day. I think it is more of a matter of preference. If the am dose works fine for you, then i say stay with it! ...Read more

The sedation occurs in a significant minority but can also be activating in some patients so if it causes insomnia, the medication can be taken earlier in the day. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Either one: There should not be much difference between taking it in the am or the pm. Once Cymbalta (duloxetine) gets to a therapeutic point, keeping it in your system regularly is important and the same time each day is important, but day or night will not change much. If it causes you to be drowsy at all, then take it at night. If it causes you problems sleeping, then take it in am. I ope this helps and best of luck! ...Read more
