Oversedation?: I am not aware of any untoward reaction by combining hydroxyzine and alcohol. The average person after drinking 4 beers is not anxious and if you are still anxious I would seek an explanation for same. My best guess is that you have an alcohol use disorder but a thorough history and exam would be helpful. The risk of combining atarax and alcohol is over sedation. ...Read more

Can you take atarax (hydroxyzine) and ativan together? Ativan helps the dizziness a tiny bit but helps my anxiety tremendously. I've never tried atarax (hydroxyzine). Does that help with dizziness?
Atarax (hydroxyzine): Yes you can take them both together. Atarax (hydroxyzine) can be used to treat itching (and is sometimes used as a sedative because of its side effects). Do not drive when taking either. ...Read more
Have bronchitis, so it advisable to take atarax (hydroxyzine)? The doctor didn't know my history and gave me atarax (hydroxyzine) because I need to sleep at night.
Won't hurt: I presume that you may have a problem with asthma and not bronchitis. In which case Atarax (hydroxyzine) won't hurt but won't do anything for your asthma either. At your age, Atarax (hydroxyzine) is likely safe but for those over 60, it is associated with cardiovascular risk. ...Read more

You can take Atarax if you are scheduled for ivf in ten days. Half life of atarax(hydroxyzine) is 3 hours, so it gets eliminated from the body very quickly, you can stop it 3 days prior to ivf.
But having said that Atarax is not a good drug for anxiety
discuss with your doctor. ...Read more

Is there any side effects when you take antihistamines like atarax (hydroxyzine) for a longer period?
My Dr prescribed Norco 10/325 For knee pain and Atarax (hydroxyzine) 25 Mg for anxiety. Can I take Norco and Atarax (hydroxyzine) 25 Mg Together or space it out.
Good question: Better to hold the atarax (hydroxyzine) till done with the norco, taking both together might cause you CNS depression (e.g. drowsiness), spacing them out, morning and evening may reduce the combined side effects, but the problem is that atarax (hydroxyzine) stays in the system much more than the norco (~ 40 hours for atarax (hydroxyzine) vs ~ 10 for norco), good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple medications :) ...Read more
