Being type 2 diebitic patient with medication tab glycomet250, sugar level not under control i.E. Minm 150fasting/250pp. No effect since last 6months?

Diabetes: Well, glycomet 250 mg is definitely a very low dose. I start patients on 500 mg twice daily x 1-2 weeks to make sure they tolerate it and if their diabetes is poorly controlled, I quickly bump it up to 1000 mg twice daily if tolerable. Make sure to take it with food. Also, you may need another medication on top of it. Metformin doesn't affect kidney but is not indicated in low kidney function. ...Read more

Can you take asprin with hydrocodone/acetaminophen 7.5-325mg tabs taking this medication after lung surgery running fever

In: In general, yes. However, I would be more worried about the possibility of infection with a fever after a lung surgeon. You should consider following up with your surgeon, primary care physician, or local emergency room for further evaluation. ...Read more

Iwas on medication for fibroid for 3mnths starting frm oct. Gt last period on 30dec. Gyno give me regestrone tab for 3 days on 17feb. When I expect mens?

Hard to predict: Given that you were on Lupron (leuprolide) for 3 months, your menses may not start even with the progesterone. If the Progesterone does induce a menses then it could take up to 2 weeks after finishing the medication to start but it won't necessisarily take that long. ...Read more

Contact your doctor: Cellulitis needs to be treated with an antibiotic; however, if you are having side effects that you believe are related to the one you are on you need to see your doctor. Difficulty swallowing should be addressed with an exam. Take care. ...Read more

Can I take a half of a acetaminophen-codeine # 300-30 and a 500 mg tylenol tab before going to bed I broke my arm and have reduced my pain medication to one half tab morning and night.

Taking: Taking too much tylenol could be dangerous. That amount you listed is reasonable, but any more then that could be dangerous to your liver. You can take advil (ibuprofen) instead of the tylenol and it is safe with acetaminophen/codeine. ...Read more

Here are someā€¦: Thus far, potassium citrate has remained the most tolerable, available drug for urinary stone prevention. To make potassium citrate more palatable or tolerable, you may adjust its dose under professional guidance. Besides, maintaining a daily urinary output > 2500 mL and decreasing oral consumption of salt, red meat, & dairy products by some 50% are essential. ...Read more

I have noticed that my blood pressure is different in each arm though, and I was wondering if that is normal. "i have been on blood pressure medication (diovan hct tab 320/25mg) for over a year now to help me with my migraines, and it also helps my blood p

A: A difference in blood pressure from one arm to the other can be due to arterial disease, with hardening of the arteries leading to a narrowing of the blood vessel that supplies one of the arms; specifically the one with the lower blood pressure reading. This is generally seen in older patients with established vascular disease and is usually not dangerous. The blood pressure in the higher reading arm should be used when making decisions regarding medications for high blood pressure. Differential blood pressure readings, especially when lower in the left arm, can also be due to disease in the aorta, which can affect younger patients and can be very serious. From what you have described I would advise you to have this evaluated further. ...Read more

Need more info: The physician who is treating you is the best person to give you the answer to your questions as there are a lot of other things that come into play. One must know the "whole" patient to determine what is going on and then prescribe the remedy. I took 50 mg valiums for one day, five 10mg tabs I have a drug test coming up dec 3, its nov 9th now I was wondering if ill pass or fail 6'2 5 pd?

Big problem: Valium has a long elimination half-life and also has long-lasting metabolites as well. Passing a drug test will be iffy before 22d. An even bigger issue is why you feel the need to take so many valium tablets on one day? You may have a high tolerance to benzodiazepines and need help with substance abuse -- or your anxiety is extremely high and you need help with this. Please see your physician. ...Read more

What are the below drugs used for? 1) famotab 20 tab; 2) voltaren (diclofenac) 50mg & 3) vit b1612? Thanks!

INTERESTING MIX: Famtab is Famotidine for ulcers or to reduce stomach acid. Voltaren is an non-steroidal antiinflammatory agent and B12 helps with a lot of things like anemia and nervous system. Vitamin b6 (pyridoxine) is required for the synthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine. And for myelin formation. ...Read more

I took 50mg of valiums 5 10mg tabs on nov 8 I have a drug test for work on dec 3 will I fail, and is there something I can do?

Prescription: With the length of time valium and its elimination products stay in your system, some may still be detectible by the time of your drug test. However, if you simply show your existing prescription for valium to the lab when you have your test, there should be no problem. If the valium you took was not prescribed to you, you have a different kind of problem that needs attention. ...Read more

I've taken 12. 25mg alpralozam tabs sparingly in the past 2 days. I could possibly have a urine drug screen monday or tuesday morning. Will I pass?

3 problems with post: 1) 3 mg of alpralozam in 48 hours is NOT taking it "sparingly." 2) We don't see the dates of posts, so just stating "monday or tuesday" without dates is useless. 3) It amazes me how many people seem heedless that asking doctors for help beating a drug test is asking them to commit a violation of medical ethics & possibly the law. ...Read more

Treatment options: Sometimes UV therapy or sunlight helps psoriasis lesions. That may be an option. But these areas would need to be exposed to the sun for this to work.

There are too many treatment options to list here. Consider this information:

I took a half tab of phentermine and then was givin a drug test 2 days after. Was the only time I had taken the drug the whole month. Will it show up?

Probably Not: Most drug tests do not test for phentermine,
this assumes you are using prescription
phentermine obtained from your doctor,
buying what is labelled "phentermine" on the internet is another story, many contain amphetamines which will test positive
lesson learned: be careful what you put into
your body!
real Phentermine is inexpensive & can be obtained from any weight loss doc. ...Read more

That: That is not clear to me. There must have been a mis-communication. Morphine typically causes mental status changes and respiratory depression. If a patient is chronically on morphine, then it takes more of it to be toxic to the patient. So I wonder if the doctor meant that. ...Read more

Here are some...: If urine test is the must step before refilling pain med for your essential long-term pain control, you have be off AZO for 3-5 days so not to taint testing since AZO is not antibiotics. On the other hand, for someone with high trustworthiness, a doctor may refill pain med after properly documenting no clinical abuse of pain medication, which has become socially epidemic among many pain med users. ...Read more

Would a person taking statin drugs that gets leg cramps be helped by k tab potassium pills?

Would a person taking statin drugs that gets leg cramps be helped by k tab potassium pills?

No on 2 counts: Statins don't cause leg cramps and potassium doesn't cure them. Statins can cause generalized aching and reduction of dose is usually all that's required to correct that. Sometimes switching drugs is needed. Leg cramps are very common and generally related to overstretch and overuse. Stretching and warm-up exercises done daily helps most people. ...Read more

What is best pain medication?

There are none...: Even the strongest opiates only "take the edge off" for people in chronic pain. Meds are only one part of dealing with the pain. A useful tool, but pain is so necessary for survival that we are not "allowed" to monkey with it much. In acute pain, the transition from miserable to less miserable can be great. In chronic pain, it's just part of the plan. ...Read more
