Wash your face: SSharma - using a medication to help reduce the bumps is not a bad idea, but my suggestion is that you utilize soap that kills bacteria. My suggestion is sold at pharmacies. The soap is called Hibiclens. Use it twice a day to kill the bacteria on your facial skin and that should reduce the bumps within a week to 10 days. ...Read more

Can I use salicylic acid together with a clindamycin gel?

Can I use salicylic acid together with a clindamycin gel?

No: I wouldn't put them on the same spot. The clindamycin is for infection. Salicylic acid is for muscle soreness. If you need to use them on the same spot, it would be better to wait and use tham after the infection is gone. Otherwise space them apart as far as is possible. They will both absorb alright, but you don't want one to block the absorption of the other ...Read more

I am using clindamycin gel with adapalene and orally azithromyc will it erase facial marks left out from acne? Or should I take up laser as a treatmen

Acne scars: Acne medications may help improve the red or dark marks left by acne spots. They don't do anything for skin texture changes due to scarring. If your acne is still ongoing, laser treatment of scars may actually cause more breakouts. Also squeezing or scratching acne spots can lead to more hyperpigmentation of the skin. There are acne meds like Azelaic Acid gel that may help lighten dark spots, too. ...Read more

Which gel is best for acne? Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% or 5% or adalene and clindamycin gel?

Acne: All of the medicines are safe and effective for acne. They work by different mechanisms and I often use all of them together. As topical agents, however they are weaker than internal antibiotics for cystic acne. And are often combined with them. Topical medicines can be irritating to the skin so their use and dose often have to be adjusted by your doctor. ...Read more

Danger: What if I told you it were cancer? It's not, but that's what the tanning bed will give you, many years after exposure, skin cancer. Consider spray tan instead. My dermatologist prescribed clindamycin gel and tretinoin gel (two separate tubes) but didn't give application instructions. Which goes on first?

My dermatologist prescribed clindamycin gel and tretinoin gel (two separate tubes) but didn't give application instructions. Which goes on first?

My recs: Clinda gel should be twice a day and at night use a pea sized amount of the retinoid first then the clinda. Less is more with a retinoid. More is more irritating, not more effective. You also must be using a benzoyl peroxide wash or the bacteria will become resistant to the clinda. So, wash twice daily with bpo, clinda 2x/day, and retinoid nightly as 1st step. Cerave pm moist last at night. ...Read more

Yes: Biore strips are fun even if they do not have much long term efficacy. Use the biore strip first to remove the excess skin cells and oil in your pores.
