Simple treatment: If there is no evidence of infection then plain vaseline on the site to keep it moist will give you the best chance at healing with minimal scarring for most superficial injuries. Although: OINTMENTS as a "VEHICLE" (carrying agent" are more resistant to the effects of water they can be washed off. I would "time" your showers at the end of the suggested time for application of the ointment (eg three time /day at the end of an 8-hour period!
