I had an attach of diverticulitis yesterday. Am on hoidays overseas andvstarted take ibilex 500 together with metrogyl given by my doctor. Bad headach?
Diverticulitis: I would think the headache is associated with your diverticulitis and stress associated with your being away from home. I would suggest that you take the medication prescribed by your doctor and take Advil (ibuprofen) or Tylinol for your headache. If that does. Not help I would see a physician ...Read more
Yes but ineffective: Metrogel vaginal cream (metronidazole) can be used to treat bacterial vaginosis (bv) but unfortunately, it's not as effective as the oral medication given over a week. It's a category b (safe in studies) but not as effective in preventing complications of BV in pregnancy such as premature rupture of membranes or preterm labor. Ask your OB if the oral version is acceptable. Take care. ...Read more

Wouldn't use either: A 2 mo is congested and coughs because they have irritants, odors, dust, etc. Triggering nasal congestion. A good nasal wash out and suction with saline drops should be all the kid needs. Eliminate the nasal irritants and the kid may improve. ...Read more
What can I take OTC for a cough due to bronchitis what they prescribed guafesin cough syrup isn't helping at all my cough gets so bad at night & morng?
Dextromethorphan: Look for something with dextromethorphan in it... that will work better than guiafenesin. My personal favorite is Mucinex (guaifenesin) DM. (Actually any product with a DM behind it should have dextromethorphan). Cough is usually worse at night because of the body's biorhythms. It is worth looking into 'why' you have such a bad cough -if this doesn't work. (Sometimes if you have reactive airways it's worsened) ...Read more

I was prescribed Zpak, Prednisone, and Acetaminophen/Codeine syrup for Bronchitis. Should this be helpful?
The ZPak is a good broad spectrum antibiotic and Prednisone will treat inflammation, particularly if you had wheezing on exam.
The cough syrup combined with Tylenol (acetaminophen) can help with fever and cough. I usually advise using Tylenol (acetaminophen) only for fever and a cough preparation only if you need it to sleep.
Most bronchial infections though are viral and not treated with antibiotics. ...Read more
