Are you sure?: Age 42 is a surprise for this history. You need to have this diagnosis re-evaluated. When you are evaluated your diagnosis will be examined by imaging - x-ray, ultrasound, mri. Maybe: Synvisc (hylan g-f 20) is an off label use in the hip. Insurance typically does not pay for it in the hip for this reason. It tends to work very well in the knee and the hip for mild to moderate arthritis although typically it is given in the 2cc mixture in the hip and not the 6cc synvisc-one mixture.
