Dr. Told me to take Nexium, (esomeprazole) but it interacts badly with my Valium. I haven't found any interaction with Prevacid. Ok to take with Valium?
Probably: There are drug interactions between almost everything. I can tell you many people take a proton pump inhibitor and a benzodiazepine without any problem, especially if both are taken on as needed basis. I assume you are already avoiding foods that provoke acid reflux, and working on weight loss if overweight. That will cut down need for drugs like nexium, (esomeprazole) unless you have other reasons for taking it ...Read more

When on Synthroid (thyroxine) and Adderall what is a safe time between taking them to avoid any interaction?
In a perfect world: You would take your synthroid (thyroxine) an hour or two prior to your adderall. Apparently safe: There are no known interactions between holy basil and these medicines (it does interact with coumadin, (warfarin) but so does almost everything). It might slightly speed elimination of Celexa but this is not likely clinically significant. Is 200mg of COq 10 safe and effective for lowering blood pressure? Current meds are Zoloft losartan betapace and nexium (esomeprazole). Any interactions?
There are two forms: Of CoQ10. Neither has been regulated by the FDA. (One form appears to have more antioxidant properties). Several conditions have been associated with low CoQ10 levels including HTN, heart failure, certain cancers, gingivitis, gastric ulcers, etc. Currently there has not been a consensus arrived at as to the BP lowering effects (due to lack of controlled studies). May affect Zoloft (sertraline) level a bit. ...Read more

Powerful Antacids: When Prilosec went generic the company that made Prilosec came out with the "new and improved" nexium (esomeprazole). The reality is that pharmaceutical companies commony tout their new meds as better than the older ones (sometimes they are). In this case it depends on the individual.
