Symptoms Red Eyes Sore Throat
I woke up with crusty red eyes. Had a fever of 101 3 days ago. Also are stuffy and have a cough and sore throat. What is it?
Several possibles: You could have just a really nasty viral respiratory tract infection to the starts of a sinus infection to strep throat to influenza (although latter is fairly uncommon this time of year). It also sounds like you have conjunctivitis on top of it (the eye symptoms). If viral, these things will run their course in 5-7 days, and you do supportive care of symptoms. If strep or sinus, need antibiotics.
I have woken up with my eyes sealed shut from green mucous along with an extremely sore throat, productive cough, red eyes, stuffy nose and exhaustion
Viral URI: The mucus lining of the eye and of the nose and throat can be simultaneously infected by a virus at the same time. The usual treatments you might take for a cold are in order here. Keep the eyes clean with warm moist cloths but unless the vision is significantly disturbed or the eyes start to become painful, you can probably let this run its course.
Red eyes, croupy noise on inhale, sore throat, irritable. No fever. Does this sound like something to treat at home or to see the doc about on Monday?
Depends: If you were talking about an adult I would say that it sounds viral and just treat it at home and it should resolve in a week. If not see a doctor. However in a 3 year old there are a few other things to consider. If the child is not eating normally or not playing normally then they should probably be seen by a doctor. Any fever or trouble breathing should also prompt a doctor visit right away
Sore throat for 3 days, dry cough, and today red eyes and eye discharge. Shall I see an eye doctor or it's the sore through and cough?
I have had MRSA 3 times. Now I have a very sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes with abscesses over them, chest pain, red eyes, and bad cough. Mrsa again?
Probably: The abscesses over the lymph nodes is a sign of mrsa. Get cultures and antibiotics. Check your gammaglobulins.
Probably: This problem can only be solved by seeing your doctor and being evaluated face-to-face. After a thorough examination, your doctor should be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.
Sore throats for 7 days not better, headache, fever first four days, red eye. No white spots in throat. Feel tired but not really sick except throat?
Viral: What you are describing is usually viral and may take up to 12 days to resolve. Listerine gargles and 1000mg of vitamin C help some people get better faster
Adenovirus: Pharyngoconjunctivall fever. A self limited viral infection
Several things: This problem mandates a real-time (face-to-face) meeting with a doctor. A history has to be taken along with a examination as well as labs and other tests. Only after all this will your doctor be in a position to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to help you.
My 6 year old has a red bloodshot eye gunk in it and dry nasty cough sore throat been like this all day what could I give him what could it be pleas?
Rhinoconjuctivitis: Different causes could lead to this problem. The 1st step is to clean his eyes with regular tap water and have him rinse his nose to clear away mucous. IF symptoms have been present for more that 4-5 days and he's also complained of ear discomfort, you should take him to the doctor because in some cases he may also have an ear infection and need an antibiotic eye drop and even an oral antibiotic.
Probably: Sounds like a viral illness and these things are likely connected. See your doc to be sure.See 1 more doctor answer
4 days ago had a sore throat. Lost voice for a day. Coughing. Now, 5 days later both eyes are red and watery. No other symptoms. Could it be Zika?
Zika: Zika is usually mild with symptoms lasting for several days to a week. People usually don’t get sick enough to go to MD and very rarely die of Zika. Thus many don't realize they have been infected. Sx: Fever, Rash, Joint pain, Conjunctivitis (red eyes), Muscle pain, Headache. Pain behind the eyes, Vomiting. Likely you have a virus but see MD. One of my eyes has discharged to redness or itchy. Is this allergies? I have sore throat and congested.
Possibly: Allergic conjunctivitis causes redness, watering and itching. The conjunctiva (inside of your eyelid) can have a cobblestone appearance. Sinus congestion is also common. If symptoms get better with an antihistamine (benadryl/dihpenhydramine) or Zyrtec/cetirizine) then it's allergies. However, allergies do not usually give a sore throat. Viral URI causes sore throat, congestion, conjunctivitis
Hi! My left eye swollen and tearing when I woke up. No redness or pain but a bit itch and I had sore throat for 3days without any medication.
Infection: You have a throat infection for 3 days and now the eye is swollen and tearing. It sound like a viral infection and there might be that is not necessary any treatment and will resolve spontaneously.
Otitis-Conjunctiviti: Ototis-conjunctiviits syndrome is relatively common and are generally self limited viral infections. However, there are other treatable bacterial causes which can only be diagnosed by a physician. In some cases a culture either of the conjunctiva or throat is appropriate. Either a primary care physician or ophthalmologist would be equipped to evaluate.See 2 more doctor answers
Viral infection: The combination of sore throat and crusty eyes is highly suggestive of a viral infection (pharyngitis plus conjunctivitis) for which there is no known treatment that will cure it. Standard advice is to stay well hydrated (drink plenty of fluids), take Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for the pain, and apply hot/wet compresses to your eyes. Then just add a tincture of time.
Just getting over a sore throat and cold. It's pretty much gone. Now both of my eyes are VERY red. No itching or discharge. Very little pain. Any idea?
2 days ago I had bad head sore throat and pain behind eyes. 2 days on and getting green, yellow, black phlegm. Eye pain went down but little bloodshot?
Doc: There may be a serious problem! Check with your doc asap.See 1 more doctor answer
