Also the levels cannot be monitored by routine thyroid testing. Brand name T4 replacement is much safer and more effective. ...Read more

I have been dizzy on and off for three years now, and my doctor just says its viruses since my thyroid cancer. What do you think?

Vertigo/Dizzyness: One important distinction is to determine if you have dizzyness versus vertigo. Does the room feel like it spins around you? Had shingles twice&"reactivated mono" twice currently showing epstein barr virus elevated now also have spleen that is 13 CM & low thyroid? What is it

Complicated: It is possible, but unlikely, that all of these things are necessarily related. If you truly had ebv infection (serology may be difficult to interpret), the splenic size may be related to this. Would strongly recommend that you see a primary care physician and be evaluated. ...Read more

Not enough info: You have not asked a question. A positive IgG antibody means previous infection, not active infection. If the IgM is also positive it means active infection. ...Read more

I've been having fatigue & muscle pain. I recently had a virus so I thought this was Lyme but my doc suggested a thyroid test. Should I be concerned?

Maybe Lyme: It wouldn't hurt to test thyroid. Some of those symtoms could be lyme, but i would consider it more likely if you have had exposure to outdoor grassy or wooded areas, gardening, have outdoor pets, had a recent tick bite or rash, or if symptoms come and go over several weeks/months. ...Read more
