Symptoms Of Teething In 9 Month Old
My 5yrs nine month old daughter has two extra teeth coming behind the two big down. What do I do to correct it?
Not extra: It very well may be that her secondary teeth are erupting... She's at the right age. By now she should have already been to a dentist half a dozen times for checkups and cleanings. If not, now is the time to call a pediatric dentist or a general dentist who treats children, too. ...Read more
My five yr nine month old girl has developed two teeth behind her lower front incisors what do I do. Can it be removed?
See your dentist: This is quite common. Sometimes the primary (baby) teeth should be removed while other times it isn't necessary as they will fall out on their own with no impact on the position of the permanent teeth. Have your daughter seen by a general dentist who treats young children or a pedodontist (pediatric dentist) to evaluate this situation and determine what, if anything, needs to be done. ...Read more

My 9 month old is constantly waking up at night crying in pain. I know he's teething, but could it be from switching from rice to oatmeal cereal?
Probably not teeth: It is unusual for teething to cause enough discomfort to awaken a child from sleep, unlike ear infections. His crying at night could be due to some separation fears which often arise at this age. I doubt the cereal change is causing pain unless there is significant constipation. Try soothing him with a transition object like a blanket at bedtime and it may help during the night. ...Read more

9 month old having wet dry farts that snell sour and he's coughing but no fever he's tired and fussy all day could it be teething cAusing all this?
ProbablyNotTeething: Sounds like my old girlfriend...My guess is it's diet. Intolerance to whatever he might be eating right now. Commonly, dairy or soy or broccoli or wheat. Look at all the ingredients in what he's eating and then try to eliminate one possible culprit at a time. There are other possibilities too, but that will require your doctor to figure out. Meanwhile, put him up to his neck in a zip-lock baggie ...Read more

Always an option: Any kid can come in a day or 2 before their ear infection becomes clear, only to have the problem progress over 8-12 hours. If the kid is eating robustly and playful most of the time, a significant issue is less likely and a virus may be running it's course. If the kid is off his/her activity pattern, drinking has fallen and your parent sense is telling you it's more, get back in to have a recheck. ...Read more

My 9 month old who has been a good eater all of a sudden is refusing his bottle. He is currently cutting 4 teeth. Is that causing the problem?
Natal teeth: In about 3000 babies "natal" teeth appear first on the lower gums. This are teeth that babies are sometimes either born with or emerge days after birth. This common form of lower/bottom teeth are different from neonatal teeth that can emerge within 30 days for birth. Natal teeth are often electively removed particularly if they interfere with feeding. ...Read more
My 9 month old is not having formula. I think she's been doing this since she just cut her 2 front teeth. She's barely having 16 oz a day. Plz. Help.
Yes: It can take up to 18 months of age for teeth to erupt. You can give your child cut up pieces of table food, which are about as small as a diced carrot. Examples would be cooked vegetables, pieces of fruit, noodles, breads, soups, and soft meats, chicken, hamburger, ham, and turkey. ...Read more

My daughter she's 9 month old but no teeth is there a problem/nutritional deficiencies what should I do or like rickets or hypopituritism hypo help?
Normal no problem.:
Onset of tooth eruption is variable but usually symmetrical, first eruption; lower central incisors usually between 6 to 10 mths. Need for dental assessment; if no eruption after age 16 months, eruption is asymmetric, other abnormalities suggesting an associated medical syndrome. Lack of space in the jaw and a familial tendency may also cause delayed eruption.

My daughter is 9 months old she is getting teeth but. Is sneezing n stuffy nose? Temp of 100.3 what's a bad temp for her age?
See the doc.: It really depends on how long she keeps a high fever. This is an elevated temperature and my resolve to a normal, but it would be a good idea to have your pediatrician examine and make sure that everything is all right. He/she can provide any appropriate medications that can also be very helpful. ...Read more
My son is 9 months old I think he's teething he has had a fever of 99 to up to 102 for 2 days no signs ofsickness shud he be seen should I wait it out?
Depends: Teething is a comforting excuse many use in infancy but I don't apply it to any fever that exceeds 101, if that. The reason for the visit depends more on any changes in your kid and your assessment. If the kids activities/play/smiles/feeding have dropped off and or the kid is prone to ear infections I would be more worried. If the kid is playful, eating well, smiling and unbothered in general, wait. ...Read more
My daughter is 9 months old and has not yet started teething. Do I need to give her some calcium intake?

My baby boy is 9month old now and what sort of cracker should I offer him? There' s no crackers for 9month baby only cookie is a teething rusk.
Avoid crackers: Crackers, biscuits, cookies, etc..., are not needed for any baby, and can choke a baby. Babies do not need any sort of "teething biscuit". If one wants to try solid items, first give one cheerio soaked soft in milk. As time goes by, a baby gains experience and can handle less soggy (firmer) cheerios. ...Read more
Not necessarily: Many infants do not have their first teeth until 15 months. Crawling, pulling to stand and cruising occur about the same time by 9-10 months in most. If you have such concerns, share them with your doc, but I wouldn't worry specifically at this point. ...Read more
9-month-old granddaughter has always been at 50th percentile for ht & wt but, at 9-mo check-up, fell to 5th for ht & wt. How common is this?
Not uncommon: At this age, children are changing from milk to foods as their main source of nutrition. In that process, they may not eat as many calories as they were for a while. Just keep offering healthy meals and snacks (if needed). Recheck her weight and height at the 12 month well check, and see if she is catching back up again. If not, discuss with her doctor. ...Read more
