Hard to say: Without knowing your thyroid test results, this is very hard to say. If the weakness onset was right after starting the medications, that may be the cause. If you have sever hyperthyroidism ( TSH is very low and your free thyroxine, t4, is very high), then your thyroid could be contributing. An evaluation by your doctor shoudl be able to tell the difference, or find another explanation. ...Read more

Started taking Paxil (paroxetine) for severe panic attacks and IBS symptoms...Concerned about side effects and weight gain. Will i definitely gain weight on paxil (paroxetine)?

Not to my knowledge: Though it is not listed as one of the primary side effects, it is certainly possible. No medication will make you want to eat chocolate or fried foods, the choice is yours. ...Read more

I've been experiencing severe panic attacks right before going to bed. I feel as if I can't breath, like I'm having a heart attack and will die. I also have physical symptoms such as a bad pain in my left arm and back, tingling in my hand and sweating.

I've been experiencing severe panic attacks right before going to bed. I feel as if I can't breath, like I'm having a heart attack and will die. I also have physical symptoms such as a bad pain in my left arm and back, tingling in my hand and sweating.

Be careful: Be certain that the cause is truly a panic attack: this a "diagnosis of exclusion." first you need to be checked carefully for other, more ominous causes. See your family doc if you haven't already. If it's deemed to be panic, consider relaxation techniques like transcendental meditation, yoga, self hypnosis with or without assistance from a tranquilizer (under the direction of your doc). ...Read more
