I have just been told I have a sliding hiatus hernia, Schatzki b-ring and oesophageal dysmobility. can you please explain this?

Muscle spasm: Hiatal hernia can cause spasm secondary to reflux and later enough scar tissue from the burning of the acid or enough spasm in the muscle of the esophagus can cause the ring which is a structure that might need to be dilated. The motility problem either secondary to the reflux or could be related to stress or some other etiology . It can cause problem swallowing . No surgery for that . Good luck ...Read more

Have GERD hiatal hernia had dialation xs 3 in 6month been on several meds only help awhile also have schatzki ring would i benefit the fundoloplicatio?

Maybe: Need a more complete picture of symptoms, size of hiatal hernia, and general medical condition. The ring has nothing to do with hernia or GERD. After anatomic & physiologic testing, you may be a candidate for an endoscopic procedure such as Stretta, or a surgical fundoplication. Gastric bypass is even an option in obese patients also considering weight loss surgery. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Schatzki ring hiatal hernia gerd-sphinter don't work had dialation x'3 in 6mth period last one was yesterday on meds am i candidate for fundilplcation

Not yet: The findings you describe warrant getting an esophageal manometery test to see how well the esophagus functions. If the schatzki ring is the cause of your problem then a fundollication may make it worse. First step would be the manometery. Good luck. ...Read more

Ringing in head - symptom of dehydration?

Ringing in head - symptom of dehydration?

Tinnitus: The most common cause of tinnitus is hearing loss. No medicines have been shown to help, but the severity can be lessened with masking the noise (background noise), using a hearing aid (if indicated) and trying biofeedback. Tinnitus can also be from medicines, stress, rarely rumors or irregular blood flow in the head. I have not seen nor heard of dehydration causing tinnitus. ...Read more

If I have acromegaly would I have other symptoms than just gaining height?Shoe size now smaller, rings are loose, no bigger features,EKGs/echos normal

Acromegaly: Check out http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/acromegaly/basics/definition/con-20019216 for more info. It's unlikely for you to gain height at 39yo. Furthermore, it's unlikely for your shoe size to shrink as a result of acromegaly. Lab test (IGF-1) can easily screen for this condition of excess growth hormone. Go see your Family Doc & Endocrinologist. ...Read more

What do these symptoms indicate: slight dizzyness, ear ringing, ear sensitivity?

Not enough info: There are several conditions that could cause these symptoms. As there are several serious conditions such as tumors on the balance nerves then i would see an ent, preferably a neurootologist. ...Read more

I changed my IUD to the nuvaring i removed the ring had unprotected sex at the end of dec now im having preg. Symptoms is it possible to be pregnant?

Yes.: No form of birth control is 100% effective. Usually a brief removal of the ring will not increase the risk of pregnancy much, but any interuption in hormones that prevent pregnancy may cause you to be at risk.
