I have missed my period by 2 weeks I have all the symptoms of pregnancy but my tubes were burned a year ago can I be pregnant?

Yes: There is a failure rate for all methods of contraception so yes you could be pregnant. There is more concern if you are because of the increased risk of tubal pregnancy after tubes are burned or tied. You should check a pregnancy test AND check with your doctor. Be safe. ...Read more

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

I have a lot of pregnancy symptoms, but my tubes are tied. What is the possibility?

Rare, but possible.: If you have had your tubes tied, it is not likely that you will become pregnant, but it IS possible! Also, if you did get pregnant, there would be a greater chance that that pregnancy would occur in one of your tubes, i.e., ectopic or tubal pregnancy. This can be dangerous. Get a pregnancy test! And go to the ER if you having any bleeding or one-sided pelvic/abdominal pain. Good luck. LGromkoMD ...Read more

I have pregnancy symptoms, got my tubes tied. Have not had a period for 3 months, took a urin pregnancy test at ER came back negative. What going on?

Get a blood pg test: See the doc who did your tubal or another gyn as u need a blood pg test and possibly other blood work and an ultrasound, because if you are pg and have had a tubal you are at increased risk, not necessarily, that the preg is stuck in the tube ( ectopic) which needs to be immediately treated, if u do not have a gyn now the er should have referred you to the gyn covering the er that day for followup. ...Read more

Ectopic pregnancy? 1 week late on period and now heavy flow (1 pad/hour) with cramping and large clots. I am also feeling very nauseated and still feeling some pregnancy symptoms. I have my tubes tied

Go to an E.R.: Cramping and large clots could just be menorrhagia, but anytime you have concern of an ectopic pregnancy or acute abdominal tenderness with known pregnancy, this can be life threatening. Tubal ligation can fail and ectopic pregnancies are always an emergency, especially with active hemorrhage. Seek emergent evaluation for concerns like this. ...Read more

I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies, removal of my left tube, still have the right tube. I am so afraid to try again, what can I do?

I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies, removal of my left tube, still have the right tube. I am so afraid to try again, what can I do?

3rd time a charm?: The 3rd time may result in another ectopic pregnancy or not because the conditions that created the obstructions in the tube such as infection/adhesions may also be present in the remaining tube to keep the fertilized ovum from making it to the uterus to implant. Have your GYN consider an antibiotic if he/she suspects infection and treat conditions like endometriosis as needed if present. ...Read more

I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies in a year in a half am i just going to keep having them lost right tube second one got the shot should I stop trying ?

Probably not: Much depends on your remaining tube. If it is open and healthy your risk of another tubal pregnancy is increased (around 10%) but not horribly so. Another strategy to conider would be ivf which would decrease the risk even more. ...Read more

I keep conceiving tubal pregnancies. I had 2 so far and one was a tubal premovel. I have 1 tube left an I am trying to have a baby. Who can help.

DID they say: Your remaining tube is normal? Because if you have not had it tested either by hsg or laparoscopy with dye injection , you should not try to get preg, cause you could end up with another tubal pregnancy, if the remaining tube is not normal you most likely are better off having it removed if it cannot be adequately fixed, and do in vitro, it does no good as u know to keep having tubal pregnancies. ...Read more

Can u have a normal preganancy after having tubes burned for 9 years then getting preganant?

Depends: ...On what you mean by "normal pregnancy." if you have a pregnancy in the uterus, then the "burned" tubes will not affect your pregnancy. Achieving a pregnancy after that procedure is rare. If you have a positive pregnancy test you should be evaluated right away for a possible ectopic (e.g. Tubal) pregnancy. ...Read more

Even : Even though a tubal ligation is considered a permanent form of birth control, there is still about a 0.5% chance that a woman could still get pregnant. Occasionally a fallopian tube will reform or reconnect allowing a pregnancy to happen. Since about 12% of these post-tubal ligation pregnancies can be ectopic (meaning that the pregnancy implants into the fallopian tube instead of the uterus which is a surgical emergency) you should see your ob/gyne right away. ...Read more
