Hi, I'm 48 yo, have endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pre-menopausal. CA 125 was around 200's then 159 the last one was 210 any concerns?

Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. It sounds like your doctor has done Ultrasound to evaluate ovaries as well. Your MD knows your history and risk, likely this CA-125 level is normal

Cyst (Definition)

A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. How do symptoms differ between an ovarian cyst and a fibroid tumor?

How do symptoms differ between an ovarian cyst and a fibroid tumor?

Depends: Ovarian cysts are often asymptomatic and found incidentally by exam or sonogram. The same goes for fibroids. If a cyst is going to cause symptoms, it will usually be pain, not necessarily with the period. May also occur with intercourse. Fibroids most often cause heavy menstrual bleeding, and sometimes also painful periods. If large enough, they may cause bladder pressure, or constipation.

A recent scan shows I have ovarian cyst and fibroid tumors. Can one surgical procedure take care of the cyst and fibroid tumors?

A recent scan shows I have ovarian cyst and fibroid tumors. Can one surgical procedure take care of the cyst and fibroid tumors?

Yes: A laparoscopic procedure could likely take care of both procedures, depending on size and location of fibroid, in addition to skill of surgeon. Otherwise, they could also make a cut in the abdomen, like for a cesarean, and remove both as well that way. Again, all of this depends on the size and location of the cyst and fibroid. If the fibroid is in uterine lining, then a hysteroscopy better.

I have an ovarian cyst and fibroid tumor. I've been having "a rubber band sensation" around the top of both my legs. What could this be?

Hard to say: Too non-specific to say. It could be related to either of the pelvic findings, or might be nothing. If it's troubling you, an exam with a doctor can sort it out.

I have ovarian cyst on both ovaries and fibroid tumors. I'm in serious pain... All the time. Stomach severely bloated is this normal?

I have ovarian cyst on both ovaries and fibroid tumors. I'm in serious pain... All the time. Stomach severely bloated is this normal?

No: It's hard to tell how much pain your ovarian cysts and fibroids cause. An ultrasound exam should be able to tell how big they are and if they are causing any symptoms. If you have period irregularities, big unyielding cysts and large fibroids and not planning to have children or more children, you may talk to you obgyn about possible removal of your uterus/ovaries, but not before a thorough exam.

What are the symptoms of a retained placenta, fibroid, or ovarian cyst?

What are the symptoms of a retained placenta, fibroid, or ovarian cyst?

Symptoms of these 3: Ovarian cysts may not cause symptoms at all or possibly pain or pressure in the lower abdomen on the side of the cyst. I don't know of any symptoms of retained placenta, but there are clinical signs your obstetrician is familiar with that suggest it. Symptoms of fibroids include pelvic pain and pressure, abnormal uterine bleeding, and reproductive dysfunction.

Hard pregnant like belly&leaking breasts along w/other pregnancy like symptoms. Not pregnant. No ovarian cysts or fibroids&thyroids fine. What's wrong?

Check prolactin: Hi. Clearly we can't make a diagnosis without an evaluation and labs. But ANYTIME a non-pregnant woman has galactorrhea ("leaking breasts"), we docs wanna see a prolactin. Have your periods stopped? I'm voting for elevated prolactin.

What are some natural ways of shrinking uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts?

Estrogen dependent: Fibroids and often ovarian cysts are estrogen dependent. Anything that lowers estrogen affects them but also will affect your overall health.
