I have bad asthma, was told by pcp that I have penicillium mold infection in lungs. How do I treat this which kind of dr should I see.?
Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more

I inhaled mold and I'm curious if mold spores can cause damage to my lungs if I inhale daily. Can immune system handle it or I will get infection?
Mold spores are in the air everywhere. It depends on what type of mold, how much and if you have any existing lung disorder. A normal immune system can usually handle mold spores, but allergic reactions may occur with normal immune system. If you have any respiratory symptoms, it would be prudent to see your doctor.

Something has happened to my lungs 5 months ago when I had a chest infection and they won't get better. All symptoms point to copd. Pft showed asthma.
Treatment...: Treatment for asthma includes bronchodilator and steroid inhalers. If symptoms continue, there are other treatments, including evaluation by an allergist to aggressively treat diagnosed allergies. A lung specialist can also assist the family doctor with diagnosis and treatment, so see a lung doctor as well if symptoms persist. If pft is not showing chronic obstruction, COPD is unlikely. ...Read more
I have some kind of lung infection. My doctor gave me bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) 800-160 for 10 days and my symptoms persist. Acne on my back and ache in chest on right?
Reword this question: "Some kind of lung infection" means nothing. Cough? Fever? What is the DR's diagnosis? Any other meds? Ache in chest due to cough? How long ill? Effective therapy of bronchitis is time + inhalers. Antibiotic therapy is not effective for viral infections. While Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is not the first choice for acne, it can be effective. If the acne is improved after 3 months, continue the med. Usually just 1 a d ...Read more
Probably: There are some small studies favoring the use of chicken soup during colds. No body knows what exactly is helpful, the fluids from the soup, the warm temperature, the salt it contains, or the protein from the chicken. Somehow in conjunction it supports the immune system during an infection. I think you can extrapolate the benefits to pulmonary infections (at least bronchitis. Pneumonia need more. ...Read more

Pneumonia: Chest infections or pneumonias can sometimes take weeks to months for the inflammation to go down. And even though the infection has been cleared, the symptoms can linger that long too.
