Thyroid: Has your doctor ordered an imaging study of your thyroid? If so, and all was OK, thyroid is not an issue for you. If not yet done you should have thyroid imaging done. If all thyroid issues are OK you need to see someone about your swollen face. ...Read more

Thyroid coffee: 34 F from from Cork notes that her thyroid swells when she drinks force. I suspect what you mean is that the you swallow coffee you and perhaps others can see your thyroid better as you tilt your head back. Cannot imagine how coffee will make thyroid swell. ...Read more

Hypothyroidism: An elevated TSH and normal FT4 is possibly due to subclinical hypothyroidism. What type of symptoms are you having exactly? Your doctor should check basic blood work to make sure there is no other explanation for your symptoms. A good physical exam of your thyroid to reveal any nodules, or goiter is very important. Not sure.: Could be that you are underdosed in your thyroid replacement hormone. I am not sure if 0.406 is your current TSH or not. If it is, it is hard to explain. If this doesn't clear up in a short while you might consider repeating your TSH and using a small dose of t3 (liothyronine). ...Read more

Discuss with doctor: Agreed with dr. Lewy-weiss. You should talk to your current doctor about your concerns to hear the reason why he/she made the recommendation that he/she did. This person knows ur symptoms and history best to make this determination. In general, a mildly elevated cortisol is "transient" and most likely will be normal the next time it's checked.
