InterstitialCystitis: I think you meant to say you have Interstitial Cystitis, a bladder condition which is not really well-understood. It is not thought to be a cancer precursor...but any chronic irritation of any body part can slightly increase the cancer risk of that part. Interstitial Cystitis does have some potentially useful treatments, and new things are being researched, so continue to see the Urologist. ...Read more

There is a : Condition called interstitial cystitis where u have inflammation of the bladder wall and symptoms present just like a chronic UTI. Urine retention and urinary tract infections can also be caused by abnormal pathology of the urethra or ureter at the point of entering the bladder (ureterovesicular junction or UVJ) which will promote UTIs.
