My HCG at 5w5d (evening) was 22, 000. I am concerned that this indicates down syndrome. Are high HCG levels in early pregnancy an indicator of DS?
Definitely not: This does not mean Downs, nothing suggests Down's at 5 weeks. The 22, 000 is pretty normal. Good wishes.

How high does hCG level have to be before a hpt will show positive? I had a miscarriage four weeks ago but am having pregnancy symptoms again.
Blood level greater: Than 5 units of HCG is generally used as the diagnostic level. Urine tests are less sensitive and depend on the concentration of urine. If you are more than two weeks past your expected period, do a hpt with first morning urine and see this site for info. Http://www. Webmd. Varies: Hcg levels vary by week and even by day. See this site for more info. Http://www. Americanpregnancy. Org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels. Html.
Have not been late in nearly two years but now I am. Could hCG levels just not be high enough to detect pregnancy yet?

Can you have a fantom pregnancy? And would ur blood detect high hCG levels if ur having a fantom pregnancy?
Phantom Pregnancy: Yes, this rare event is possible. There would be no HCG levels if there is a phantom pregnancy.
My hCG level is at bit high on 12th week of pregnancy. What does tht mean. Do I need to worry abt it?
Need an ultrasound: If you beta HCG is elevated, it may be normal or a sign of problems. A dramatically elevated HCG can be a "molar" pregnancy, which is a very abnormal placenta, usually without a fetus. This would be seen with ultrasound, twins will cause an elevated hcg. Sometimes fetal or placental problems can cause an elevated hcg, and again a detailed ultrasound would evaluate this.
Would an hCG level of 634 put a pregnancy in a range of 1 week or less than a week? Is it too high for less than a week?
Hcg levels: Preg is "dated" by first day of last menses. "a wk pregnant" is technically before conception, (typically around ovulation @ day 14 depending your cycle length). You'd be "3 weeks" "ega" est. Gestational age if conception a week ago. Nml HCG doubles every 48-72 hours till 8-11 weeks ega. Rough:3 wks: 5-50 4wk 5-486, 5wk:18-7340 (labs vary don't fret early variation common, us can confirm ega).
Can you get pregnant again after abortion with hCG levels still as high as 800 from previous pregnancy? Thanks
No: If your beta hcg's are still positive then you're not going to ovulate so a new pregnancy is not possible yet.
