I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosis in 2010 in the genital. It's back now and worse than ever. Blister, cuts, itchy. What can I use now to stop itch?

Hydrocortisone: Possibly the recommendation will again be the Hydrocortisone cream but perhaps for a longer but spaced out time. See your doctor again to be sure. Well!: Many years ago i used hypnosis for lichen planus (itchy scales all over body). I "suggested" under hypnosis that the scales would fall off. That night when she undressed the scales fell off and she had to get a brush and pan to sweep them up. Very uncommon in men: Urologists call it balanitis xerotica obliterans. It is like leathery white skin which does not stretch. Most commonly affects foreskin ; thus seen mostly in uncircumcised men ; strong indication for circumcision. You got your dx: If your biopsy sample was representative of the worst part of the affected area then you got your definitive dx; if your gynecologist doubts it he can discuss with the pathologist and ask for a review or second opinion ...Read more

Clobetasol 0.05%: If it's biopsy proven lichen sclerosis, clobetasol seems to be the best treatment. Estrogen is only used for atrophy (thin dry mucosal surfaces from low estrogen). Usually ls is a long term condition but if all else has failed, use the Protopic with careful follow-up with your doc. Testosterone rarely helps long term. Good luck with singular, i've not tried this for ls, interesting idea. ...Read more
