I am concerned about a DVT in the groin. I am having significant pain on the inner groin on one side (no matter what I am doing). No injury.?
Unlikely : This does not sound like a DVT at all. Most symptomatic dvt's present with leg swelling on one side. Dvt pain on my calf has gone does that mean the clot has disolved..have pain in my groin area though?
Why are you waiting.: Just because your calf pain has gone down does not necessarily mean that the clot has dissolved, at least totally. Without knowing the specifics of your clot, how it was treated and the time frame makes commenting purely hypothetical. What isn't hypothetical is that clots can form in the groin and it would be wise for you to have your groin evaluated soon. ...Read more
What are possible causes for transient sharp stabbing groin pain in a female with no history of DVT or this type of pain.?
Pulled Muscle: I agree with dr. Wolf's comprehensive list of possible causes of groin pain. Although less likely, i would also include a pulled groin muscle as a possibility. These tend to occur following rigorous exercise +/- lifting and respond well to rest, ice, and anti-inflammatories. ...Read more
Had negative DVT u/s. Report said there was compresability seen from groin to ankle with color Doppler. Is this enough to rule out DVT?
Yes: Yes. Patients with malignancies are often prone to clot formation (hypercoaguable). In addition, in advanced cancers, spread to the lymph nodes of the abdomen can result in pressure on the large abdominal veins with resultant slowing of blood flow which is another setup for clot formation (thrombosis). ...Read more

You will need a: physician's order to obtain a repeat and if you are insured it is unlikely that the second one will be paid for. In other words you will have a big bill to pay. Ultra sound showed DVT is from groin to knee. Tinze since january 30. Cannot straighten leg at the knee due to swelling can I fly or 12 hour trip?
DVT: By this time your clot should be gone. If you are still on blood thinners a flight should not be a problem. Sometimes after one has a blood clot the veins become chronically dilated losing some of their recoil (elasticity) and therefore blood return is decreased causing swelling. It doesn't mean there is a clot. However, you should get clearance from your doctor and guidance what to take prior. ...Read more

My wife had an evlt procedure on her leg, 1.5week ago, she now have a lump inner thigh, close to groin, not tender. Is this normal? Or could be dvt?
Perhaps: It is not uncommon to feel the treated vein as a "lump". It could be a reactive lymph node as well or a superficial thrombosed vein. It would be something to discuss with your treating physician to determine if an ultrasound would be indicated. The incidence of DVT after evlt is quite low, but you should discuss it with the treating physician. ...Read more
