Symptoms Of Brain Bleed After Hitting Head
How long after hitting your head would you notice signs of bleeding in brain? Hit head on corner of concrete wall 7 hrs ago. Have a headache.
variable: This depends on the size and location of the "bleed." something large or in more eloquent areas would probably be noticeable sooner than a small one in not-as-important areas. Very small one might not be noticed at all.In severe cases, you could lose consciousness. Also, if a hemorrhage grows, it could become more noticeable. Somethings can progress over minutes/hours, while others can take days. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Odds of posterior epidural hematoma after hitting head on car approximately 11 hours out. No loss of conscienceless, or vomiting. Was lethargic though?
Chill like full body jerks after head injury and staring spells are they seizures. They all started after head injury
Hit in the back of the head with a foam dodgeball 12 hours ago. No loss of consciousness. No severe headache. Brain damage likely?
Not likely: Healthy 22 yr usually has a pretty hard-head. It has been 12 hours and you don't really have any concerning symptoms and so significant brain injury is highly highly unlikely. If u were 72 it would be a different story because of a possibility of a very slow bleed. So, just be careful playing sports/protect your head, otherwise you are lucky this episode. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can my nerve irritation in head and lack of emotion be a syptom of neurological based behavior after hitting my head ?
Head injury: Head injuries, even those thought of as "mild" can lead to cognitive (thinking) problems, emotional changes etc. Headache is common, of various types as well. You need to see your doctor as soon as possible and likely a neurologist. If you had the MRI and it is normal, it is reassuring, but your symptoms could certainly be the head injury. There is treatment, depending on specific diagnosis. ...Read more
Depends: "Head injury" doesn't mean the same thing to doctors as it means to laypeople. But practically speaking, whenever you have an unexplained nosebleed you should have it checked out. The blood may be coming from behind your nose. And even if it's coming FROM your nose, the nasal septum is supplied by 3 arteries, so whatever the cause, you can lose a lot of blood if it's not controlled. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Head injury getting hit with keys to my head not heavy keys but at close range lasceration & 1staple what can cause brain swelling or internal bleed?
What are the symptoms of brain bleeding? Are headaches, ringing ears, red eye related? (I was in a car accident didn't hit my head, just back&forth)
Closed head injury: To get brain bleeding from a car accident just by accelerate-decelerate motion of the head is possible if the person is on anticoagulant (blood thinner) and have a brain that is less then healthy, such as in cerebral atrophy. Usual sypmtoms are stiff neck and severe headaches, and confusion. I mean severe! There maybe bleeding from the ear. But ringing and red eye not so clearly related. ...Read more
Can hitting your head cause brain aneurysm? Mild to severe head trauma with pain resolution after 4 minutes.
No, not possible.: No, trauma to the head cannot cause an aneurysm. But I want to make sure we are using the terms in a similar fashion. An aneurysm is an unstable blood vessel, a bleed in the brain is a different process. A hard enough trauma could cause bleeding in the brain or it could (rarely) cause rupture of an existing aneurysm. ...Read more
Can a blow to head cause brain injury? No other symptoms only heaviness n dull ache in head. No loss of concsiousness. 2 days back it happened.age 22
Yes: Sub-acute bleeding by definition is bleeding that occurs 3 -21 days after the injury or fall. I do not know the frequency of these types of bleeds but they do occur. Thus, after any head injury, even if rhe acute ct or MRI scan is negative, the patient needs to be watched for a few weeks afterward by family and friends and follow up with their primary doctor for rechecks. ...Read more
Below: The best explanation is from a Mayo Clinic site: What is a traumatic brain injury? TBI is an injury to the brain caused by a blow or jolt to the head from blunt or penetrating trauma. The injury that occurs at the moment of impact is known as the primary injury. Primary injuries can involve a specific lobe of the brain or can involve the entire brain. Sometimes the skull may be fractured, but not always. During the impact of an accident, the brain crashes back and forth inside the skull causing bruising, bleeding, and tearing of nerve fibers (Fig. 1). Immediately after the accident the person may be confused, not remember what happened, have blurry vision and dizziness, or lose consciousness. At first the person may appear fine, but their condition can decline rapidly. After the initial impact occurs, the brain undergoes a delayed trauma – it swells – pushing itself against the skull and reducing the flow of oxygen-rich blood. This is called secondary injury, which is often more damaging than the primary injury. ...Read more
Head injury, fell from shower, hit head on toilet. Two days ago. Pressure sensation inside head. Nausea, no vomit. Can't focus. Should I worry?
Could only sign of a brain injury in a 2 year old be crankiness? Hit his head on cement 3 days ago. Small bump on forehead gone. No other symptoms & he's getting molars. Didn't lose consciousness or cry. PERRLA.
Sounds normal: I wouldn't use "brain injury" as a descriptor (too loaded with worry)but a kid can be cranky for 1-2 wks after a simple fall.Toddlers can have the equivalent of a migraine come & go in the same time frame with this form of trauma, usually lasting <1hr at a time. If he didn't get knocked out i think the possibility of a significant issue approaches zero. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Here are some ..: By the sequence of events, seeing blood out of penile opening might be related with masturbation and suspect either your strokes are "too" strong/violent or the strength of your urethral lining (mucosa) is somewhat "weakened" by prior or existing urethritis. So, based on such, decide how to handle this event - seeing Doc now or wait and see until recurring. Either way is reasonable as long as... ...Read more
Can concussion cause brain aneurysm? And 4 months after would complications show up by now?Have headaches 2mon,I worry its complication from concussion
Concussion: Yes but a rare complication. After head trauma, an artery in the brain that is tethered or adjacent to the meninges can lead to tearing of an artery wall and formation of an aneurysm. The most common locations are the base of the skull and the pericallosal arteries along the falx cerebri. An MRI and MRA of the brain is used as a screening study to exclude a traumatic intracranial aneurysm. ...Read more
