Forgive my frankness: What's accomplished by taking a teen or grownup to the doctor to get diagnosed with asperger's? It has many pluses and many minuses. There's no magic cure beyond getting educated on social skills and reading other people. If he wants it, fine, no need even to diagnose. If he doesn't, it's his business.
