I had torn my perineal tendon and had it repaired and my big toe joint feels jammed. It has felt this way since the surgery. I feel it's going to snap?
Cast problems?: Was your cast properly changed 1-2 weeks for several weeks after repair? Sometimes the casting after a procedure can limit rom and the disuse can lead to weakness, or the cast could have been improperly modeled around your great toe joint (your toe should have been allowed to move). It's unlikely anything during surgery could have affected the joint or the tendon to the toe. ...Read more
In 2011 I had peroneal tendon repair. It was partially torn across but torn way up my leg. Since then my big toe has hurt &doesn't bend very well help?
May or may not: Be related. The peroneal longus tendon inserts on the base of the first metatarsal and this may have something to do with the function of the great toe. Xrays to rule out hallux limitus/rigidus and clinical exam are warranted. ...Read more

Cut EHL tendon: If tendon on top of big toe (ehl tendon) is cut, one should get to the nearest E.R. Or foot specialist's office to get the great toe splinted in a p/op shoe or splint. Surgical repair of the cut tendon if done in a timely fashion will restore hallux dorsiflexion. If left unrepaired, the ends of the cut tendon would retract, making it difficult for subsequent repair without use of a tendon graft. ...Read more

What effect would posterior tendon release in big toe have on gait? Ii have claw toe due to nerve damage from laminectomy
Improvement: The posterior tibial tendon causes the foot and ankle to turn in (inversion). Release of the posterior tibial tendon allows the arch of the foot to flatten, decreases ankle/foot inversion (turning in), and allows turning out (eversion). It would improve the rocker motion of the foot during gait. It may not effect a claw toe deformity unless the toe (flexor hallucis) tendons are also released. ...Read more

Feel a tendon or something moving side to side in base of big toe. Pain and sometimes burning sensation when walking was after slamming side of foot?
Walk this Way.: There are quite a few structures that have the ability to move side to side, associated with the base of the big toe. A slamming injury could injure any one or more of them effecting the stability of the toe and toe joint. Pain and burning are the body's way of letting you know this. It's always a challenge trying to give specific answers without the benefit of an examination or the ability to ask you specific questions.
That being said, the fact that you can run probably excludes any vascular issue like poor circulation (which is unlikely in a younger person). Knowing you have flat feet, and given the widespread involvement that is limited to only your lower extremities, the first thing I would investigate is a biomechanical cause for your symptoms. If your foot structure is such that it's causing your leg muscles to overwork in an effort to compensate for the structural issues, that most certainly can cause all sorts of muscle fatigue, heel pain, shin splints, low-grade tendonitis, etc.
I would recommend seeing a podiatrist and get a biomechanical examination. Orthotics, either a good over-the-counter kind, or a custom molded pair will improve your symptoms dramatically. Also, needless to say, make sure you take enough time to stretch before and after each run.
Good luck. Hope this helps. ...Read more
