Could be a Problem.: You symptoms are describing to some extent a deep vein thrombosis. This condition, can be extremely dangerous and you need to take immediate action to have it treated. The fact that your leg also turns red and hurts is troubling. Call your family physician immediately. In the mean time, elevate your leg and apply moist heat. Typically not: Mri is the most sensitive test available to aid in the diagnosis of ms. While there are rare cases of MRI negative ms, the vast, vast, vast majority of patients with ms have MRI abnormalities. Having said that, given your symptoms it would be important to know if the cervical and thoracic spinal cord were imaged.
