Phlebitis: supeficial one. Usually resolves with local treatment of the inflammation with warm compresses and anti-inflammatory medications such as advil or aleve (naproxen). Compression of nerve: which will hopefully be temporary. The usual position for a person installing flooring is to support your weight on your extended wrists. If it is not an infection, it could be any number of inflammation problems - phlebitis being one of them.
