I : I wonder if you had bleeding from a small blood vessel. If a small blood vessel tore, it would cause bleeding and discoloration. It sounds like there was no injury that you recall, which makes it very unusual to have the swelling or the tear in the blood vessel. If you have this happen again or see bruising or discoloration, you should be seen and evaluated, or of course if you had any signs of infection in your hand. ...Read more
Phlebitis & others: Pain and inflammation of the leg veins is called phlebitis. When this occurs it can be painful to the touch. The worrisome condition for which you need to get checked is a blood clot (deep venous thrombosis, dvt). This can be checked with a duplex ultrasound of your leg veins to make sure there is flow that is not blocked by a clot in your vein. There are many reasons for swelling so get checked! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Could be, but...: You should have this looked at asap. You need to make sure this is not a developing infection. Gout or another inflammatory arthritis is a possibility as well as a skin inflammation indicating some underlying systemic problem. Left hand middle finger tight with stiffness. Can't bend it. Swollen @ the joint & palm. No pain, just uncomfortable.
No injury?: Assuming you haven't injured that finger somehow (sometimes it is hard to remember...might have seemed like nothing at the time)... I'm thinking things that aren't exactly "serious", but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt! Possibly tendinitis in that finger, or a bit of arthritis in the joint. Try using an ice pack, and reducing movement, maybe w/ a splint. If it continues, I would get an x-ray. ...Read more

Crystal arthrtis could do this if the elbow lesion is an inflamation of the elbow , but you ought to know at least that you have gout , it would be unusual three site location for a first episode. ...Read more
